Customisation & Alterations

The majority of our made to order jewellery can be customised, either in gemstone size, metal type or finger size. Our pre-owned jewellery may be altered, however, this would be judged on each individual piece, to re size the finger size of a ring (excluding full eternity rings) can be expertly altered to your finger size. Please note: There may be additional charges for any work carried out. We have tried to note as much information as possible. Some carat weights are estimations due to the stone being mounted when calculated. Weights and dimensions will also be approximate. The colour and clarity estimations are completed by our, in house, qualified professionals unless otherwise stated by independent valuers. Example; GIA.

We have a busy shop and pieces that are on the website are also available to purchase in our shops, we endeavour to remove items off the website as soon as they have sold, but sometimes this can be difficult to keep up with during peak periods, holidays & illness. On the occasion of a customer purchasing an item through the website that is actually sold we will refund accordingly as soon as possible.

Purchase Conditions

We endeavour to show the items to their truest standard in the images you see. Our preowned rings are inspected and then refurbished by experienced goldsmiths to ensure wear-ability and keep originality, however we don’t want to polish away all the character and history of our preowned pieces, so you will naturally see some small signs of wear from the previous owner. If you wish to have anything looked at that you can see, please get in touch with us, we are happy to help.

Kimberley Process

The Kimberley Process, introduced in 2003 is now law in all EU countries and in around 40 other countries worldwide and is working to regulate the flow of rough diamonds and to exclude conflict diamonds from the supply chain. ‘Rough’ is the term used to describe diamonds as they come out of the ground before they have been cut and polished. This global system is backed by governments, the UN and various NGOs. It effectively manages and certifies the international trade in ‘rough’ diamonds.

The Kimberley Process is supported by a code of conduct introduced by the World Diamond Council which requires traders in cut and polished diamonds to warrant that the diamonds have come from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict. At Joshuas, we deal only with reputable suppliers who we know and trust, non of whom deal with conflict diamonds. All of our diamonds are purchased from legitimate sources, that are not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations Resolutions.
